Our 6 best bets for Melbourne Cup day at Flemington today and the Professor’s Parlay

The premier day of the Spring carnival is here and the race that stops a nation, the Melbourne Cup, will be run and won today. There are many chances and the Professor and the Gelding have attempted to pick the winner in two selections. They have their other four tips on a big day of racing as well. The track is currently rated a Slow 5 but with showers predicted during the day that rating could be downgraded. The rail is out 2 metres for the entire circuit.

The Spring Carnival is in full swing with punters getting a double dose of Group 1 racing at Moonee Valley today after last night’s Manikato Stakes became race 11 this afternoon. The Professor has a tip in the race and the Gelding has one in the Cox Plate. The track is currently rated a Heavy 8 with the rail in the true position.

The Spring Carnival has its first major race of the Spring Carnival with the running of the Caulfield Cup today. The track is currently rated a Heavy 8 with the rail out 6 metres for the entire circuit. The Everest is also being run at Randwick.
