The Gelding’s attention remains at Caulfield today for the running of the Caulfield Cup. Hopefully the weather will remain fine for the great race!

The Gelding’s attention remains at Caulfield this Saturday and the Spring Carnival is heating up with the return of Sportzfan Radio’s own Black Caviar to the track.

28 August 2011 216.2 What better way to start but with Dr Leslie’s CSA followed by Mark Fiorenti talking all things Soccer and the Socceroos. Daniel Eade discusses the upcoming AIHL finals to be played at the Ice House. The Professor and Daniel talk about slow ice/fast ice (originally a topic raised by Dan Butterly) and which one suits the Melbourne Ice. With Paul Dalligan unavailable, the Professor and Daniel also talk NRL and the big bash between Melbourne Storm and Manly players. The Professor thinks it looked more like Gladiator than an NRL match.

The Gelding is away on holidays in Hawaii so the Gambler calls in to talk horse racing and defend his selections for yesterday’s race meeting at Caulfield. Mark Fiorenti talks soccer and previews the Socceroos World Cup tie against Thailand on Friday.

Danish Rock update #6 – first start at Echuca today

Listeners to Sportzfan Radio will have heard the Professor and the Gelding talk about Danish Rock, a horse they have an interest in.

Today is the big day….Danish Rock has his first start at Echuca in Race 1, the Criterion Hotel Rochester over 1200 metres. He is Horse 3 and has been well drawn at barrier 4 in a field of fourteen. The current odds are at 10/1.

Too bad the Gelding is in Hawaii and will miss the horse’s debut!
