Gelding’s tips for Caulfield races on 11 February 2017

professor-geldingThe Gelding’s attention remains at his home track at Caulfield today and after a well known jockey’s ride last week put the Gelding’s all up bets in jeopardy, he had no qualms in immediately awarding an s-hit ride.

As always the bets are on an each way and all up basis.

Gelding’s red hot tips for Flemington on 17 December 2016

professor-geldingThe Gelding’s attention is on Flemington today and he is keen to atone for last week’s ordinary showing. He did have some help from the jockeys though, awarding not one but two s-hit rides. Hopefully the jockeys aboard today don’t lose their compass.

gelding2The Gelding’s attention is at Sandown today and after what one could only term a mediocre Spring Carnival, he is looking to bounce back with a vengeance. By the way punters, he awarded an s-hit ride to Kieran McEvoy for last week’s ride on the $3.25 favourite The Unites States.

Feb 20 2011 015The Gelding’s attention is at Flemington today and he has been in good form in recent weeks. He had a lot to say about a particular jockey’s riding last week and actually awarded him two s-hit rides, which is a record for one meeting.

Gelding’s hotties for Caulfield on 11 October 2014

42The Gelding’s attention returns to his home track at Caulfield tomorrow for the running of the Caulfield Guineas. After a ripper start last week with a winner and two seconds, there were a few s-hit rides by jockeys who should have known better. Gelding described their rides as follows….’…lost this way…’ ‘….lost his compass….’ etc, etc.

Hopefully this week all the riders know which way to go.

Gelding’s hoties for Caulfield and Randwick for 6 September 2014

Mar 13 2011 021Spring is in the air and the Gelding’s attention is divided tomorrow between Moonee Valley and Randwick. Last week’s reasonable return would have been much better except for the questionable ride by the jockey aboard Boban. Instead of saluting, as it should have, it was a sure thing beaten by one and a half lengths. The Gelding awarded that one an s-hit ride!

Daniel suggests that there is a moment of silence for Paul Dalligan’s multi which went west when the Washington Nationals lost. Dan Butterly comes on to talk US sport and kicks off with the Lance Armstrong story. He also looks at the MBL playoffs and discusses Yankees player Alex Rodriguez being benched. He feels the St Louis Cardinals will play Detroit Tigers for the World Series. He believes the NHL is in mortal danger if it can’t resolve the lockout. The Gelding talks racing and the Spring Carnival with racing at Caulfield yesterday. He also discusses the revelations that Damian Oliver allegedly bet $10,000 on a horse in the same race he was riding in. The Gelding awards S-hit rides to Nash Rawiller for his rides on More Joyous and Pierro. Dr Leslie’s CSA makes a return.

Daniel also reviews the Melbourne Tigers recent performances and says with the game on the line in the last four matches, they couldn’t get it done. The Gelding queries whether they are missing Patty Mills already. Dan Butterly comes on to discuss US sport talking College football including who will qualify for the National championship and the other BCS bowls. Once again Dan argues that there should be a playoff in College football. He also looks at the coaching carousel with a number of Colleges firing their football coaches and says it’s not good to be a coach at this time of year. Dan says Tim Tebow is a winner and Tebowmania has overtaken Denver. He thinks the Packers can run the table and sees the Colts going 0-16. The Professor and Dan discuss the bid by Jerry Kramer’s daughter to have him admitted to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. The Professor learned about it on Twitter. Dan says it is an amazing story and he encourages the fans to learn more about the cause and Kramer’s career. Dan thinks Bobby Valentine’s hiring to coach the Red Sox is a great one. The Gelding talks racing and reviews both his selections and the Sydney Colts. Unfortunately for the Gelding his tips were just off the mark with four seconds. He awards an s-hit ride to Danny Nikolic for his ride on Starchine. Sportzfan Stan is upset that the Gelding has been invited to the Ladies at the Tennis club’s Christmas party but he hasn’t. Mark Fiorenti talks A-League soccer and says the Melbourne Victory are a ‘little bit’ back in crisis. The Professor reviews Mark’s pre-season ladder predictions, especially Adelaide on top and the Newcastle Jets on the bottom.

The Professor believes that Danish Rock would have beaten the horses in the first five races at Traralgon. Sportzfan Stan and Daniel eventually get introduced and make up for lost time. There is a discussion regarding the televising of NBL games and how they select the games as Daniel thought it would be Perth v Melbourne on Friday night but it turned out to be Townsville v Cairns. Sportzfan Stan asks why people aren’t watching the games on TV and the overall feeling is that the games are on too late. Dan Butterly comes on to talk US sport and looks at the situation in Boston after the Red Sox meltdown with both their coach Terry Francona and GM Theo Epstein leaving. He also looks at the revelations that three pitchers were in the clubhouse during games eating fried chicken, drinking beer and playing video games while their teamates were out on the field. Dan looks at the ALCS and NLCS and believes the Texas Rangers and St Louis Cardinals will play off in the World Series. He comments that hitting is dominating at present. Dan discusses Pete Carroll’s attempt to get LeBron James to play wide receiver for the Seattle Seahawks via twitter and the shock teams so far this season in the NFL. He also looks at the ‘almost’ play of the year in College football by Brad Wing, LSU’s Aussie punter and finishes with a review of MWC basketball media day. The Gelding talks racing and reviews yesterday’s races at Caulfield. He got two selections up for the Ladies at the Tennis Club and also awarded an s-hit ride. The Gelding has also put together a Sportzfan Radio stable of horses for the listeners to follow for the Spring carnival.

Sportzfan Stan talks about the continuing negotiations between the AFL and the AFLPA. Daniel can’t understand why both parties go to a Mediator to sort it out. The Professor talks about the John Travolta safety video taken out of circulation by Qantas although we don’t know what that has got to do with sport! The Panel also discuss whether hot tubbing is a sport or how it could become one and the great winning run of Black Caviar. The Gelding comes on to discuss yesterday’s racing and awards a number of S-hit rides. He is followed by the Sydney Colt who also has an S-hit ride to talk about.
