An ordinary start on the tipping front for the first day of the Morphettville carnival last Saturday but the Professor and the Gelding intend to put that behind them as they look for winners on Robert Sangster Stakes day. The Morphettville track is rated a Soft 5 with the rail in the true position for the entire circuit.

The Professor and the Gelding were in very good form last week with three winners from four selections. They look to continue that form today at Morphetville. The track is rated a Soft 5 with the rail out 4 metres from the 1800 metre mark to the winning post and in the true position for the rest of the circuit.

The Professor’s tips for Flemington races and the Gelding’s tips for Morphetville races on 16 May 2020

The Professor clawed one back from the Gelding last week but the Gelding still leads 2-1 in this best of five challenge. The Professor is looking to Flemington today whilst the Gelding has his eyes on Morphetville.

At Flemington the track is rated a Soft 5 but with plenty of sun this morning that rating could improve. The rail is out 2 metres for the entire circuit. At Morphetville the track is also rated a Soft 5 with the rail out 8 metres from the 1200 metre mark to the winning post.

The Professor has decided to study the Queensland form today and stay away from the rain affected track at Caulfield. Last weekend’s successful parlay had to wait until extra time for Adelaide United’s last minute winner!
