Sportzfan Radio #172.1

@SportzfanRadio now available on iTunes!26 September 2010 172.1 – The Gelding starts the program with an impersonation of Stan. The Panel then gets into a discussion of the drawn AFL Grand Final and the ramifications of the replay. Daniel says the AFL should give 45,000 tickets to each competing Club. Will there be another Grand Final parade? will there be another Footy Show? will there be different Gtand Finals replayed in the all night marathon? Dan Butterly tells Paul Dalligan he couldn’t watch cricket for five days with no result. Dan also talks MLB pennant race he thinks the Seattle Mariners will probably lose 100 games even with the roster thay have and feels the Yankees will make the World Series again. In NFL, Dan looks at Michael Vick’s re-emergance as a starting quarterback with the Philadelphia Eagles and he thinks Brett Favre is regretting coming back. The Professor discusses last week’s Michigan State trick play to beat Notre Dame in overtime. In NBA, Dan thinks Carmelo Anthony will be traded to the New Jersey Nets within the next 48 hours. The Gelding takes pride in the fact that he and the Sydney Colt from 9 selections at both Moonee Valley and Randwick had a return of 6 winners and 2 thirds. The Panel don’t necessarily agree with the Gelding that you can have a “good seventh” in a race with nine runners. The Panel also agrees that Dr Leslie’s CSA seems to have taken up a permanent position after the racing segment.

Sydney Colt's Mail For Saturday 25 September

We are posting early as the smell of the stables beckons bright and early on Saturday morning. Two of our four selections are fav so astute betting is required. PLEASE, if you have any respect for money, bet with the corporate bookies and not your local betting agency.

Race 4 n1 DECISION TIME Won impressively for us last time. I’m told it is still on ‘the up’. Can knock off the fav here and is great value.

Race 6 n8 MORE JOYOUS We have been on this girl at her 2 wins this preparation. Is an absolute star and worthy of being the day’s anchor bet. Get on!

Race 7 n11 PURENESS e/w Underrated galloper who is very tenacious and retains fitness. Will be right in the finish of this race and great value e/w.

Race 8 n13 KISS FROM A ROSE Our mail was spot on with this neddy last start and we got the cash. Word from the track indicates it has improved. The opposition need help against this one.

Money lost, nothing lost. Confidence lost, everything lost.

Sydney Colt's Mail For Rosehill 18 September

The fill up continued last week giving us 6 winners and a 3rd from the last 7 tips. If you didn’t follow the mail from Gai’s stable you were surely asleep at the wheel. Unfortunately we have no strong leads from our contact there for today.

Race 3 n7 HOT DANISH No bravery award for picking this one but it should just win. I followed the lead early and took $1.85 (they bet $1.95). Now shorter!

Race 6 n11 SASA I am told if ratings mean anything this neddy has lengths on this field. Explains why they came from everywhere to back this with the Corporate bookies. I secured $3.0 but assume it will start shorter.

Race 7 n9 HOW MUCH MY LOVE e/w Sydney Colt groupies will know we have been waiting for this neddy who is a first up specialist. Has already firmed from $8.0 to $6.0

MELB Race 6 n10 SO YOU THINK I cannot ignore the advice of our ratings man who says he has no idea how they can beat this neddy today. It can control the tempo and we saw last start what he is capable of.

Money lost, nothing lost. Confidence lost, everything lost.

Gelding's tips for 18 September 2010

The Gelding’s attention returns to his home track at Caulfield tomorrow .  Hopefully the rain will stay away and the track will dry out with all the wind we are having.  Hope all the punters out there were on the Sydney Colt and my tips last weekend.  You would be well in front with a nice little bank!

The tips as always are on an each way and all up basis.

Race 3 Horse 4 – Avenue
Race 4 Horse 1 – Toorak Toff
Race 7 Horse 1 – Doubtful Jack  (for the girls at the Tennis club)
Race 8 Horse 7 – Moudre (also for the girls at the Tennis club)

And don’t forget, Queen Asa goes around at Cranbourne on Sunday at 2.25pm, Race 3 Horse 6.  Hoping for an improved run (maybe 5th this start).

Remember that you can hear me discuss how the selections faired with the Professor on Sportzfan Radio every Sunday at 12.30pm on 88.3 Southern FM.

Good luck and good punting!

Sportzfan Radio #170.2

@SportzfanRadio now available on iTunes!12 September 2010 170.2 – Paul Dalligan discusses NRL and laments that his Rabbitohs missed the finals when they couldn’t beat St George last week after the Canterbury Bulldogs opened the door for them by beating Manly. He also discusses the NRL finals and tells the Professor of a the recent stoolgazing episode engaged in by two Sydney Roosters players. Daniel reviews the FIBA World Basketball Championships and the Boomer’s fortunes finishing a creditable (?) tenth. He also wonders why noone worked out till recently that one of Greg Oden’s legs was shorter than the other. Sean Callanan thinks Social Media can be a ‘danger zone’ for athletes with both Stephanie Rice and the Matilda’s Lisa De Vanna getting into hot water on twitter and facebook during the past week. Sean never thought Sportzfan Radio would be compared with Saturday Night Live but Lisa Hayes wasn’t going to watch SNL until our show had finished. A listener suggests the syndicate race horse should be named ‘Professorial’. The Panel discuss the state of Etihad Stadium’s surface (again) and the Gelding feels the AFL should bring back Waverley Park.

Sportzfan Radio #170.1

@SportzfanRadio now available on iTunes!12 September 2010 170.1 – A political discussion starts the program with Daniel finding it hard to work out why, if the Western Bulldogs scored more than Sydney and won the game, why didn’t the Coalition win the election as they scored more than the Labor Party.  The Professor’s reveals that his nomination for the name of the horse the syndicate will be racing is Sir Yorrick.  Dan Butterly talks US sport including discussion of the NFL opening round, the MLB playoff races, the Air Force Academy’s great win over BYU in College football, Lauren Jackson winning another MVP award in the WNBA and Boise State’s fortunes in basketball in the coming season. The Gelding talks racing and chats about his tips for Moonee Valley and the Sydney Colts selections at Rosehill. He says that of the eight selections made by he and the Colt they garnered 5 firsts, 2 placings and a fourth. Mordiboy returns behind the microphone to talk golf and interview Rossdale trainee professional Baden Schaff.

Sydney Colt's Mail For Rosehill 11 September

God bless Gai who gave us 3 wins from as many bets last week. I enjoyed the fill-up and we have more mail from Gai’s stable this week.

Race 1 n2 ZUTARA I’m informed his neddy has been flying on the track for Gai and is ready for a 1st up win. Worth following through the Spring over longer trips.

Race 4 n2  DECISION TIME It is ‘D Day’ for the this galloper who has been disappointing this time in. Our ratings man says on his numbers it must be backed.

Race 5 n3 HERCULIAN PRINCE Gai has big plans for this neddy. If it runs up to the raps it will be beating this lot.

Race 6 n4 MORE JOYOUS The clock watchers were amazed with the sectional times this girl reeled off when a 1st up winner for us. With luck from the barrier she will put on a repeat performance.

Money lost, nothing lost. Confidence lost, everything lost.
