Gelding’s tips for 5 February 2011

With Caulfield almost underwater after the heavy overnight rains, understandably the races have been called off.

However, there is still a great race meeting at Rosehill today and the Gelding will defer to the Sydney Colt’s tips which you will see below on this webpage.

Mindful of needing to tip one for the Ladies at the Tennis Club though, he can’t go past Race 6 Horse 8 ‘Sportzfan Radio’s own’ Hot Danish.

You can hear the Gelding and the Professor discuss all the racing news on Sportzfan Radio every Sunday at 12.30pm.  Tune in to 88.3 Southern FM.

Good luck and good punting!

Sydney Colt’s Mail For Rosehill 5 February

I would not want to be a bookie tomorrow as we can spot winners aplenty!

Race 1 n1 HELMET Got a call from a mole in the Snowden camp and told to get some cash off this neddy. I’m on!

Race 2 n4 SOMEPIN ANYPIN Did you see this win its last start? If you did, there is nothing more to say. If you didn’t, then watch the video and get to your ATM

Race 3 n3 VIVA LAS The mail says it won last start when it still had improvement. Won’t have to improve at all to beat these.

Race 4 n1 IRONSTEIN Last chance for this one! Our ratings man says it is great value.

Race 6 n8 HOT DANISH Won 7 of 8 first up!! That is enough to bet up on one of our fav gals.

Money lost, nothing lost. Confidence lost, everything lost.

Sydney Colt’s Mail For Randwick Tomorrow

Last week we squeezed out of trouble with a $4.8 winner which gave us a small profit for our 4 bets. Not much value tomorrow but I think we can snare a few to again produce a profitable day.

Race 1 n1 GODSPEED Very short in the market but this neddy ran super sectionals last start when a beaten fav. Will win this.

Race 3 n6 SCREEN The word from the Snowden camp is that this one is on fire. The word around the tracks is strong for this one.

Race 6 n6 TRIPLE ELEGANCE The best rated horse all day.

Race 8 n7 HONEST LIES I hate this horse but will be betting with my pro punter mates who tell me they have strong reports from the training track. It’s ‘D’ Day for this bugger!!

Money lost, nothing lost. Confidence lost, everything lost.

Sportzfan Radio #186.2

@SportzfanRadio now available on iTunes!23 January 2011 186.2 – Paul looks at Nathan Tinkler’s offer to buy the Newcastle Knights.  He thinks that it will make the Knights stronger.  There is also a discussion about Melbourne Storm again being in the news with a fan under threat of being sued over comments posted on social media.  Shane Harmon, Communications Director for the Rugby Union World Cup in New Zealand comes on to talk about the World Cup beginning in September.  The global TV reach will be greater than 4 billion people over the six weeks of the tournament with 1.5 million attendees at the matches.  Mark Fiorenti with a big smile chats about the Socceroos making the semi finals of the Asian Cup with Harry Kewell hitting the winner against Iraq in extra time and now going on to play Uzbekistan in the semis.  He also looks at A League and Premier League results.  The Panel discusses the shrine to be built to remember Paul the oracle octopus.  Mark says FIFA should consider decalring a calamari free Friday as a tribute.  Bogus Powerbalance bracelets also come in for examination and Nick believes it says something about the intelligence of our athletes.  Nick also comments on the selection of the Australian cricket one day side for the World Cup.   He thinks the overlooking of Brad Hodge is astounding and defies logic and belief.  Paul reviews the upcoming ABL finals and how the first season has developed.  He says it is the best value for your sporting dollar that is going around at the moment.  A tweet from a listener provokes a discussion regarding Channel 10 dropping Kelli Underwood from the commentary box to the AFL boundary line for season 2011.  Nick says if she is good enough she should be in the commentary box.  The Professor feelks she may have been rushed in without serving an apprenticeship calling football at a lower level.

Sportzfan Radio #186.1

@SportzfanRadio now available on iTunes!23 January 2011 186.1 – The Panel starts off by talking to Daniel Eade about the Charity Baskets match to be held at MSAC on 30 January 2011 at midday. The event will be covered by Sportzfan Radio with a live broadcast on 88.3 Southern FM. The former players including Gaze, Copeland, Anstey… all say they are still able to match it on a basketball court. Sportzfan Stan takes a look at the recent drug controversy involving Albert Contador and Lance Armstrong.  The Panel then chat with radio personality and former Canterbury Bulldogs premiership player Graeme Hughes who discusses his recently published book “Dogs at War”.  The Gelding reviews the race results from both Flemington and Rosehill where both the Gelding and the Sydney Colt were successful…much to the joy of the ladies at the Tennis club.  Stan adds that his uncle Albert owned a horse El Galea and he learned from a very early age that if you wanted to know whether a horse was going to win or not you needed to ask the trainer first and then the jockey.  There is also a discussion of the NFL selling tickets outside the stadium and counting those attendees as part of the game’s crowd.  Stan says it is a rot and the NFL should be sacked.  The Panel also discuss the NFL Divisional Championships in the NFC – Green Bay Packers at Chicago Bears and in the AFC – New York Jets at Pittsburgh Steelers.  The Panel is split as to who will win the Green Bay game but agree that the Steelers will be too strong.  Paul thinks the Packers defence is the least intimidating of the teams remaining.  Dr Leslie’s CSA makes a welcome return and Lanard Copeland comes on to talk about the Charity Baskets basketball match to be played at MSAC next Sunday with all proceeds going to Queensland flood relief.
