12 September 2010 170.2 – Paul Dalligan discusses NRL and laments that his Rabbitohs missed the finals when they couldn’t beat St George last week after the Canterbury Bulldogs opened the door for them by beating Manly. He also discusses the NRL finals and tells the Professor of a the recent stoolgazing episode engaged in by two Sydney Roosters players. Daniel reviews the FIBA World Basketball Championships and the Boomer’s fortunes finishing a creditable (?) tenth. He also wonders why noone worked out till recently that one of Greg Oden’s legs was shorter than the other. Sean Callanan thinks Social Media can be a ‘danger zone’ for athletes with both Stephanie Rice and the Matilda’s Lisa De Vanna getting into hot water on twitter and facebook during the past week. Sean never thought Sportzfan Radio would be compared with Saturday Night Live but Lisa Hayes wasn’t going to watch SNL until our show had finished. A listener suggests the syndicate race horse should be named ‘Professorial’. The Panel discuss the state of Etihad Stadium’s surface (again) and the Gelding feels the AFL should bring back Waverley Park.

Sportzfan Radio #170.1
12 September 2010 170.1 – A political discussion starts the program with Daniel finding it hard to work out why, if the Western Bulldogs scored more than Sydney and won the game, why didn’t the Coalition win the election as they scored more than the Labor Party. The Professor’s reveals that his nomination for the name of the horse the syndicate will be racing is Sir Yorrick. Dan Butterly talks US sport including discussion of the NFL opening round, the MLB playoff races, the Air Force Academy’s great win over BYU in College football, Lauren Jackson winning another MVP award in the WNBA and Boise State’s fortunes in basketball in the coming season. The Gelding talks racing and chats about his tips for Moonee Valley and the Sydney Colts selections at Rosehill. Mordiboy returns behind the microphone to talk golf and interview Rossdale trainee professional Baden Schaff.
Sportzfan Radio #169.2
5 September 2010 169.2 – The Panel talk NRL with Paul Dalligan. He says Rabbitohs supporters are never on the knife edge as they aren’t usually even in the kitchen. He says the Melbourne Storm have really played well and given everything since the salary cap problems. The Gelding likes Typhoon Tracey to win the Horse of the Year award. Sean Callanan discusses the poor crowds at the MCG for both finals matches played so far. Sean believes a lot of it has to do with the way tickets are released to the public and an inability for the public to choose where they would like to sit. He says that “single ticket” sales aren’t handled by the AFL very well. He also discusses the Boomers progress at the FIBA World Championships and wasn’t surprised that they beat Germany. For the tournament to be a success they need to win the next game at least. The Professor and the Gelding discuss Matthew Knights shabby treatment by the Essendon Board and the Professor wonders what ever happened to the review that was to be undertaken.
Sportzfan Radio #169.1
5 September 2010 169.1 – Susan Shan makes her Sportzfan Radio debut and talks US sport with the Professor and the Panel. She likes the Green Bay Packers to do well in the NFL this season and thinks the Oakland Raiders defence will be their big problem although they will be better than last year. She is surprised that there aren’t more Aussie punters and kickers going to the US to try out for the NFL. Gelding talks racing and is surprised that the penetrometer didn’t go in as far this week given the rain that had fallen in Melbourne. He thinks he was unlucky with his tips and compliments the Sydney Colt for his 3 winners. Gelding says his wife knows everything and therefore he would have backed that horse to win over “Wife knows nothing”. Mordiboy makes a welcome return to the show to talk golf and in particular whether married golfers are more successful than single golfers and expects Tiger Woods to win his next championship within six months.
Sportzfan Radio #168.2

We give a shout out to some of our twitter contributors and the Panel discuss whether Tiger Woods golf improved after he was divorced. Sportzfan Radio #167.2
15 August 2010 167.2 – The Sydney Colt talks about the best value when betting and says punters would be very foolish not to go with the Corporate Bookies. He also talks about the last table at the World Series of Poker and has framed a book on the next NSW RL State of Origin Coach ($2.80 Laurie Daly $3.40 Ricky Stuart, $5.00 Phil Gould, Steve Folkes, $12.00 Brad Fittler..). We get Dr Leslie’s CSA in earlier this week just prior to Paul Dalligan. Paul hasn’t been eating baked beans but says he had a foot long hot dog at the Mets. Whilst he didn’t do any stool gazing, he did do some beer gazing. He returns from his overseas jaunt to talk NRL but spends most of his time talking baseball. He has brought the Professor an umbrella from his trip to the Citibank Stadium super box. Paul would like to see Phil Gould as the next State of Origin Coach. The Professor reveals there will be no Sportzfan Radio next Sunday as Southern FM are off the air for maintenance work. In that case, Daniel decides to talk about next week’s results this week. The Panel talks to Nick Tedeschi about the NSW State of Origin Coach and Nick thinks Laurie Daly is over the line from the mail he has received. Nick would prefer Chris Anderson to coach the team. He also discusses the players leaving the Melbourne Storm and whether the Storm will be able to do a Canterbury Bankstown and win a flag within two years. The Panel spends the rest of the time talking about rumors and topics tweeted in. The Parkdale Pounce believes Matthew Knights will not coach Essendon next year but Matthew Lloyd will comeback and be coached by Mark Williams. There is also a discussion on changes by the AFL to the interchange rules and it is decided that we should start the “Benny Hill” segment for stupid ideas. Daniel believes Adrian Anderson would be part of the segment each week. The Gelding believes there should be a committee set up to watch over committees. In another nomination for the Benny Hill award, it seems Cameron White is playing for Bangalore against Victoria in the IPL competition – go figure! Will Richmond keep Ben Cousins? Time will tell although the Panel hope he comes back in 2011. Finally the Panel talk about the Socceroos new coach Holger Osieck – the no name coach, who is maybe twenty years out of his prime.
Sportzfan Radio #167.1
15 August 2010 167.1 – The Panel kick off with a discussion on the proposed changes to AFL rules. In the US report Dan Butterly talks about the Mets Felix Rodriguez and the alleged attack of his girlfriend’s father at Citibank Stadium and agrees with the Professor that he may have tried for one strike out too many. He also discusses the MLB pennant races and still has hope that the Rockies will qualify for the playoffs. There is a discussion of the various Commissioner’s salaries (Bud Selig from the MLB wins by a long way) and the Professor wonders whether there is value for money, Dan thinks David Stern from the NBA is doing the best job at present. Dan thinks the Knicks are a dysfunctional franchise and this is evidenced by the fact that they have approached Isiah Thomas to become a “consultant” for the franchise. There is also an announcement by Dan of a cultural exchange between the Southern Football League and the Mountain West Conference with the SFL CEO visiting the MWC in the US for a week’s internship. The Gelding and the Sydney Colt talk racing and provide a comnprehensive review of the Caulfield and Rosehill results.
Gelding's tips for 14 August 2010
The Gelding’s attention is fairly and squarely on his home track at a rather wet Caulfield tomorrow.
With the rain during the week, the track should be fairly heavy so look for the runners that like the forward running.
Race 3 Horse 6 Mr Harry (for the girls at the Tennis club)
Race 4 Horse 1 Crystal Lily
Race 6 Horse 11 Shoot Out (also for the girls at the Tennis club)
Race 8 Horse 15 Imperial Command
Remember you can hear the Gelding talk racing with the Professor on Sportzfan Radio every Sunday at 12.30pm. Special guest this week will be the Sydney Colt.
