Sydney Colt's Mail For 16 October 2010

We got back to eating well after a nice day on the punt last Saturday. Today is tricky. The mail is very light in Sydney and the heavy Caulfield track will only likely attract the punt drunks amongst us. I have some good mail for Caulfield but will punt lightly. Sydney Colt’s groupies should follow suit.

RANDWICK

Race 6 n10 OUR BILLY BOY e/w My mail says this horse has trialled well enough to be a big chance 1st up. Nicely placed and backed e/w is great value. This neddy has already firmed with the corporate bookies.

CAULFIELD

Race 2 n1 SKILLED Our ratings man rang me to say this was the best placed horse anywhere today. Track is a query but I’m already on. Join me.

Race5 n4 SOUL This neddy is a swimmer. What more needs to be said? Only that one of Sydney’s biggest punters has let rip.

Race 10 n20 VARENNA MISS Those of us in the know waited 12 months to back this midweek 10 days ago where it trotted in. This one has outstanding potential and I’m willing to risk the track.

Money lost, nothing lost. Confidence lost, everything lost.

The Gelding's tips for 16 October 2010

The Gelding is ready and raring to go for Caulfield Cup day at his home track.  Unfortunately, the weather may play a big part with Melbourne expecting a deluge of rain over the next twelve hours and many horses expected to be scratched because of the expected conditions.

As always the bets are on an each way and all up basis.

Caulfield

Race 2 Horse 1 – Skilled
Race 5 Horse 7 – Duble Anny (for the ladies at the Tennis club)
Race 6 Horse 2 – All Silent
Race 8 Horse 1 – Shocking (also for the ladies at the Tennis club) – quinella it with Horse 17 Faint Perfume
Race 9 Horse 1 – Hot Danish

You can hear the Gelding discuss all the racing news with the Professor on Sportzfan Radio at 12.30pm this Sunday on 88.3 Southern FM.  Special guest this week by phone from Sydney will be the Sydney Colt.

Good luck and good punting and don’t get wet!!

The Gelding

Sportzfan Radio #174.1

@SportzfanRadio now available on iTunes!10 October 2010 174.1 – The show reprises Daniel’s singing of the Collingwood theme song from show #173. The Panel discusses Michael Vick’s injury with Dan Butterly in his US report and Dan says a quarterback in the NFL can’t take the same chances to run the ball as players do in College. Paul Dalligan talks to Dan about the rumor on Brett Favre and a former NY Jets female employee and wonders whether Brett has been playing golf with Tiger Woods.  Paul also talks about his surprise at the unbeaten Kansas City Chiefs being in the match of the round against Indianapolis Colts. Dan also talks MLB playoffs and thinks the Yankees, Rangers, Phillies and Giants will win through.  #1 ranked in NCAAF Alabama losing may reignite the BCS controversy and discussion on whether a BCS College that has lost a game is more deserving of playing in the BCS title game than a non-BCS College that has not lost a game.  The Gelding talks about his selections at Caulfield and the Sydney Colt’s selections at Rosehill.  He has a discussion with Daniel about backing horses each way.  Daniel thinks backing a horse not to win does not make sense.  The Professor starts off a discussion on the Delhi Commonwealth Games.

Sydney Colt's Mail For 9 October

Baked beans on toast was all we could afford after last Saturday’s racing. The bookies were the only ones sighted at the best of Sydney’s restaurants. Mail light for Rosehill today so we may have to back some of the Melbourne good things today.

ROSEHILL

Race 5 n1 GRIFFON ($3.3) Back in distance will suit and I’m reliably informed this neddy has been smart in its work.

Race 8 n12 HONEST LIES e/w ($12.0) One at great odds. 1st up today after being gelded and the mail is the trial form is worthy of an investment.

CAULFIELD

Race 5 n6 SO YOU THINK ($1.5) Very short odds but looks a case of bookies giving money away.

Race 6 n1 MORE JOYOUS ($2.6) Luxbet bet $4.0 yesterday (limit $100 bet) as a promotion proving another reason to bet with corporate bookies and not your local TAB. My mail says Gai’s neddy has settled well in Melb and according to the ratings has a mountain of CLASS on this lot.

Money lost, nothing lost. Confidence lost, everything lost.

Sportzfan Radio #173.1

@SportzfanRadio now available on iTunes!03 October 2010 173.1 – The show starts off with the Panel discussing the AFL Grand Final replay and talk about Sean Callanan’s shimmy caught on camera at the GF (http://j.mp/bKJVwu) which even attracted tweets. The Panel try to decide whether Julie Anthony or Lionel Ritchie were better. Daniel wonders whether Julie was “limp” synching. We talk with Marie Baker about US sport particularly whether the ultimate games in sport should be replayed or subject to extra time. She also talks about tailgating and how big it is in the US and the quarterback carousel in the NFL this season. The Gelding talks about the fields at Flemington and the likely winners and also goes through the Sydney Colt’s selections at Rosehill. Gelding and the Professor discuss Queen Asa and the horse they both have an interest in, Danish Rock. There is a brief discussion about the Fremantle Dockers change to their football jumper and possible changing of their club song. Mark Fiorenti talks soccer and defends the decision for the Heart/Victory game to be transferred to next Friday away from the clash with the AFL Grand Final

Sydney Colt's Mail For Randwick 2 October

Be careful today. Tough races, rain coming and the mail is only even.

Race 3 n6 PURPLE We have reliable mail which indicates they will ride this more positively today. Expect this neddy to improve from recent outings.

Race 4 n4 SLATER Clock watchers were salivating at the sectional times this one ran in winning last time out. A repeat is expected.

Race 8n13 FIREBOLT e/w This is the hardest race of the day but ratings and a strong lead from a pro punter dictate that this neddy must be backed today. Its last win was sensational.

Race 10 n4 VINTEGE e/w Well placed today and our ratings man says it is an e/w must bet.

GO THE MIGHTY DRAGONS ON SUNDAY!!!

Money lost, nothing lost. Confidence lost, everything lost.

Sydney Colt's Mail For Saturday 25 September

We are posting early as the smell of the stables beckons bright and early on Saturday morning. Two of our four selections are fav so astute betting is required. PLEASE, if you have any respect for money, bet with the corporate bookies and not your local betting agency.

Race 4 n1 DECISION TIME Won impressively for us last time. I’m told it is still on ‘the up’. Can knock off the fav here and is great value.

Race 6 n8 MORE JOYOUS We have been on this girl at her 2 wins this preparation. Is an absolute star and worthy of being the day’s anchor bet. Get on!

Race 7 n11 PURENESS e/w Underrated galloper who is very tenacious and retains fitness. Will be right in the finish of this race and great value e/w.

Race 8 n13 KISS FROM A ROSE Our mail was spot on with this neddy last start and we got the cash. Word from the track indicates it has improved. The opposition need help against this one.

Money lost, nothing lost. Confidence lost, everything lost.

Sydney Colt's Mail For Rosehill 18 September

The fill up continued last week giving us 6 winners and a 3rd from the last 7 tips. If you didn’t follow the mail from Gai’s stable you were surely asleep at the wheel. Unfortunately we have no strong leads from our contact there for today.

Race 3 n7 HOT DANISH No bravery award for picking this one but it should just win. I followed the lead early and took $1.85 (they bet $1.95). Now shorter!

Race 6 n11 SASA I am told if ratings mean anything this neddy has lengths on this field. Explains why they came from everywhere to back this with the Corporate bookies. I secured $3.0 but assume it will start shorter.

Race 7 n9 HOW MUCH MY LOVE e/w Sydney Colt groupies will know we have been waiting for this neddy who is a first up specialist. Has already firmed from $8.0 to $6.0

MELB Race 6 n10 SO YOU THINK I cannot ignore the advice of our ratings man who says he has no idea how they can beat this neddy today. It can control the tempo and we saw last start what he is capable of.

Money lost, nothing lost. Confidence lost, everything lost.

Gelding's tips for 18 September 2010

The Gelding’s attention returns to his home track at Caulfield tomorrow .  Hopefully the rain will stay away and the track will dry out with all the wind we are having.  Hope all the punters out there were on the Sydney Colt and my tips last weekend.  You would be well in front with a nice little bank!

The tips as always are on an each way and all up basis.

Race 3 Horse 4 – Avenue
Race 4 Horse 1 – Toorak Toff
Race 7 Horse 1 – Doubtful Jack  (for the girls at the Tennis club)
Race 8 Horse 7 – Moudre (also for the girls at the Tennis club)

And don’t forget, Queen Asa goes around at Cranbourne on Sunday at 2.25pm, Race 3 Horse 6.  Hoping for an improved run (maybe 5th this start).

Remember that you can hear me discuss how the selections faired with the Professor on Sportzfan Radio every Sunday at 12.30pm on 88.3 Southern FM.

Good luck and good punting!

The Gelding

Sportzfan Radio #170.1

@SportzfanRadio now available on iTunes!12 September 2010 170.1 – A political discussion starts the program with Daniel finding it hard to work out why, if the Western Bulldogs scored more than Sydney and won the game, why didn’t the Coalition win the election as they scored more than the Labor Party.  The Professor’s reveals that his nomination for the name of the horse the syndicate will be racing is Sir Yorrick.  Dan Butterly talks US sport including discussion of the NFL opening round, the MLB playoff races, the Air Force Academy’s great win over BYU in College football, Lauren Jackson winning another MVP award in the WNBA and Boise State’s fortunes in basketball in the coming season. The Gelding talks racing and chats about his tips for Moonee Valley and the Sydney Colts selections at Rosehill. He says that of the eight selections made by he and the Colt they garnered 5 firsts, 2 placings and a fourth. Mordiboy returns behind the microphone to talk golf and interview Rossdale trainee professional Baden Schaff.
