With the return of racing to the metropolitan area at Caulfield today, the Professor and the Gelding are looking for an improvement in their form. The track is rated a Good 4 with the rail in the true position for the entire circuit.

Luke came through the Penrith junior pathway and played over 350 games of rugby league for the Penrith Panthers, NSW State of Origin, Australian Kangaroos and finished his career with the Cronulla Sharks. He tasted success playing in premiership teams with both the Panthers and Sharks. He now uses his knowledge of the game in commentary for the ABC.

He spoke with Paul Dalligan about his life in rugby league.

Paul Dalligan reviews round 1 of the NRL and round 3 of the NRLW.

The panel discusses the suggestion of moving the start of the new AFLW season to late August 2022 and the Professor asks if independent grounds keepers should prepare test cricket pitches given the ‘road’ that was used for the first test between Pakistan and Australia.

The Professor and the panel of Coutta, Paul Dalligan, Sarah Radlow and the Gelding take a last look at the Australian Open results and the epic five set match in the men’s singles between Rafael Nadal and Daniil Medvedev.

Paul gives an update on the coming NRL season with only a week to the All Stars match and three weeks to the Charity Shield. Tom Trbojevic will be off the grog again in 2022 and is there any hope of the New Zealand Warriors playing home games this season.

Sarah looks at round 5 of the AFLW season, the appointment of Scott Greenwood as coach of the Sydney Swans and the suspension of reigning league best and fairest, Kiara Bowers.

The Gelding talks about the resignation of Justin Langer as Australian cricket coach and why it took so long to make a decision.
