An ordinary outing for the tipsters on Oaks Day but, as the Sydney Colt says, as long as the confidence is not lost we’re OK. The track is currently rated a Good 4 but there are showers forecast during the day. The rail is out 8 metres for the entire circuit.

The Professor and the panel of Sarah Radlow, Paul Dalligan, the Judge and Coutta discuss whether to ‘take a knee or not to take a knee’ and Quinton De Kock’s decision to choose not to play for South Africa in a T-20 match rather than be directed to take a knee. Paul Dalligan talks about the three Penrith Panther’s players issued with breach notices by the NRL for bringing the game into disrepute, the panel comment on Collingwood’s Jordan De Goey being arrested in New York for allegedly groping a woman and look at Adelaide United’s Josh Cavallo who announced during the week that he is gay. The Gelding provides some tips for today’s Mornington and Mortlake race meetings.

The red hotties for Cup day at Caulfield races on 16 October 2021 and the Professor’s Parlay

Another Caulfield Cup day under lockdown restrictions. Although we can’t get to the track, we can still have an interest and try and pick a few winners!! The track is currently rated a Heavy 8 but showers are predicted during the day so the condition of the track may deteriorate. The rail is in the true position for the entire circuit.

The Professor and the panel of Dan Butterly, Sarah Radlow, the Judge, the Gelding, Paul Dalligan and Coutta talk sport including Paul Dalligan’s review of this weekend’s NRL playoffs, Dan Butterly looks at the different MLB playoff scenarios, the start of the College football season and some surprises from the first round in the NRL, Sarah Radlow assesses whether the appointment of Brad Scott as AFL Victoria CEO had been good or bad, the Judge has picked two teams – one made up of Brownlow medalists and the other from players who haven’t won a Brownlow. The Judge believes the team of non-Brownlow medal winners would win a match between the two. The Gelding picks some winners for today’s Ballarat race meeting.

The Professor and the Gelding had a welcome return to form last week with some winners and the Professor’s parlay saluting. They look to improve on that at Moonee Valley today where the track is currently rated a Soft 7 with the rail in the true position for the entire circuit.
