Gelding’s tips for 14 May 2011

The Gelding’s attention this week is on his home track at Caulfield where the track will be very heavy and make winners hard to select. More rain today will just serve to complicate matters, but the Gelding thinks he has got it right.

As always the bets are on an each way and all up basis.

Caulfield

Race 1 Horse 2 – Royal Bender (for the ladies at the Tennis club)
Race 3 Horse 3 – Aspinal
Race 5 Horse 1 – Shylock’s Daughter
Race 7 Horse 1 – Curtana (also for the ladies at the Tennis club)

Back Caviar is running in Queensland and should salute for win number 13.

You can hear the Gelding discuss racing with the Professor every Sunday on Sportzfan Radio at 12.30pm on 88.3 Southern FM.  The Gelding’s segment is sponsored by the Great Western Hotel.

Good luck and good punting!

Sydney Colt’s Mail For 14 May 2011

There is NO Sydney metro racing this Saturday and hence I will take the advice of a pro punter and keep away from punting on Scone races. I am going with our ratings man who is covering Bris races for a pro punter.

Everyone should glue themselves to the TV at 3.50pm tomorrow to watch the gallant HAY LIST once again take on the unbeaten champ BLACK CAVIAR. Don’t bet, just watch and enjoy.

DOOMBEN

Race 1 n3 PRIMED e/w ($12.0) – ratings

Race 2 n4 DEER VALLEY e/w ($6.0) – best of the ratings

Race 6 n3 CHATEAU FORT ($3.8) – ratings

Money lost, nothing lost. Confidence lost, everything lost.

Sydney Colt’s Mail For 7 May 2011

Just awful last week. Should have taken the advice I posted last week and stayed away from betting at Hawkesbury. Anyway we lost our money but our confidence is high for a good return today. Have very good mail for a bolter at the Gold Coast. Valerie, a noted punt drunk, who is sunning herself at the Gold Coast, should cop the tip.

Canterbury

Race 2 n1 LEGSMAN ($3.3) Loves the track and distance. Should get a soft lead.

Race 3 n6 RAIN AFFAIR ($1.7)  Very skinny odds but I am told based on ratings this neddy has many lengths on the opposition today.

Gold Coast

Race 4 n11 COUNT YOUR FINGERS e/w ($21.0) Huge odds about this neddy who will be ridden by Damien Oliver. I am told you should throw the form guide out here as the rider butchered it last start and Oliver is a +++. Up in distance and should get a suck run. At $21 e/w get aboard.

Money lost, nothing lost. Confidence lost, everything lost.

Gelding’s tips for 7 May 2011

Race 4 Horse 4 – Sheahan (also for the ladies at the Tennis club)

Sportzfan Radio #200.1

@SportzfanRadio now available on iTunes!1 May 2011 200.1 – A milestone 200th show for Sportzfan Radio – Sportzfan Stan starts the show by taking a swipe at the AFLPA with their quest to get 27% of future AFL revenues. Stan is not happy with it as it seems too much. Dan Butterly comes on the show to talk US sport from Phoenix, Arizona. He looks at the NBA & NHL playoffs, the NFL draft and the problems with the lockout and Major League Baseball especially the takeover of the LA Dodgers by MLB. The Gelding talks racing and explains why his selections won or lost. The ladies from the Tennis club did well with a 1st and 2nd. John O’Callaghan highlights prior Sportzfan Radio stories about the annual Olive Branch Achievement Award presented to Kevan Gosper, the research on the age grouping of footballers both of which were also featured in the Age. Mordiboy joins the show from the golf course and discusses the highs and lows of golf over the last four years including the story broken by him about Tiger Woods.

Gelding’s tips for 30 April 2011

Looking to build on last week’s excellent tipping, the Gelding’s attention returns to his home track at Caulfield.  With the great recent Autumn weather, the track should be in perfect condition today.

As always the best are on an each way and all up basis.

Race 3 Horse 2 – Curtana (for the ladies at the Tennis club)
Race 4 Horse 1 – Highly Recommended

Sydney Colt’s Mail For Hawkesbury 29 April

1 winner paying $2.8 from the 2 races we bet on last week gave us a small profit for consecutive weeks. The races today are out of town at Hawkesbury and with the track very heavy it is purely a day for punt drunks. No mail whatsoever today from pro punters. They tell me to be smart for once in my life and not bet!

Race 5 n8 DEVIL’S ARCADE e/w ($5.2) Has won 3 from 3 first up! Has won 1 from 1 on heavy tracks! Has trialled brilliantly and is trained by Gai. What else could you want to know?

Race 6 n15 FORETELLER e/w ($6.0) Big run at Randwick and up in distance is a ++. The track will not worry this neddy.

Race 8 n11 CARMINE KING e/w ($8.5) On a dry track this neddy would have been an exceptional e/w bet. I am reliably told it has been burning up the track at Randwick.

Money lost, nothing lost. Confidence lost, everything lost.

Sportzfan Radio #199.1

@SportzfanRadio now available on iTunes!24 April 2011 199.1 – Sportzfan Stan leads off the show with suggesting the Port Adelaide FC coach, Matthew Primus should be sacked after yesterday’s loss to the Gold Coast Suns. Daniel says the club should look outside for a replacement. This leads to a discussion on whether the Melbourne Tigers should also look outside the club and not go with Darryl McDonald as coach. Stan suggests they should appoint Andrew Gaze. The Panel talk to former NBL player John Rillie who is now with Boise State’s basketball program. He discusses College basketball, NBA and the NBL playoffs.  The Gelding comes on the show to talk racing and the weird behaviour of jockey Shane Scriven during the week when he ‘borrowed’ the whip of another jockey during the race. He has been suspended for 5 months over the incident. The Gelding also reviews both his and the Sydney Colts selections. His two tips for the Ladies at the Tennis Club got up. The Panel then discuss the Anzac Day game and whether it should be limited to just Collingwood v Essendon or should other teams also get a chance to play on the day. Mark Fiorenti has finally tweeted again…about the Copa Del Rey between Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Gelding’s tips for 23 April 2011

The Gelding’s attention turns to his home track at Caulfield today.  He is looking to build on his good form from last week and to provide a little Easter present to punters.

As always the bets are on an each way and all up basis.

Caulfield

Race 2 Horse 6 – La Praline (for the ladies at the Tennis club)
Race 3 Horse 1 – Miss Octopussy (also for the ladies at the Tennis club)
Race 4 Horse 2 – Turnitup
Race 6 Horse 4 – Launay

You can hear the Gelding discuss racing with the Professor every Sunday on Sportzfan Radio at 12.30pm on 88.3 Southern FM.  The Gelding’s segment is sponsored by the Great Western Hotel.

Sydney Colt’s Mail For Randwick

Hope like me you had a small win last week with our first selection winning and paying $6.10 which covered all bets. The weather is a worry today so I am limiting our bets.

Race 1 n1 RED TRACER Without doubt the bet of the day. Seems every man and their dog have followed the pro punters in on this neddy. Best rated runner all day and is ok wet or dry. Ran great sectionals winning last start.

Race 2 n2 PRAECIDO e/w If the track was dry I am told Gai was keen on FAST CLIP. With the early showers PRAECIDO looks a fantastic e/w bet to nothing. A nice Derby run and the wet wont bother this neddy. I have taken the current Betchoice odds of $11.0 and will have a saver bet on FAST CLIP

Money lost, nothing lost. Confidence lost, everything lost.
