In the US report Dan Butterly talks about the Mets Felix Rodriguez and the alleged attack of his girlfriend’s father at Citibank Stadium and agrees with the Professor that he may have tried for one strike out too many. He also discusses the MLB pennant races and still has hope that the Rockies will qualify for the playoffs. There is a discussion of the various Commissioner’s salaries (Bud Selig from the MLB wins by a long way) and the Professor wonders whether there is value for money, Dan thinks David Stern from the NBA is doing the best job at present. Dan thinks the Knicks are a dysfunctional franchise and this is evidenced by the fact that they have approached Isiah Thomas to become a “consultant” for the franchise. There is also an announcement by Dan of a cultural exchange between the Southern Football League and the Mountain West Conference with the SFL CEO visiting the MWC in the US for a week’s internship.
